Education
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc), Master of Science (MSc), Master of Science (MSc) in Water Resources Engineering
  • Post-graduate diploma on water resources or hydrological engineering will be an additional for the deserved candidate.
  • And relevant technical training in the relevant fields will be considered as extra credentials.
  • Strong technical background in hydrology, hydraulics, water quality, flood modeling, and coastal systems.
Experience
  • At least 8 years

Additional Requirements
  • The applicant should have sound and practical knowledge of water resources engineering, hydrologic modelling, hydraulics and software-based modelling like HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Delft-3D, Mike models with sound and practical knowledge on AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency with water resources modeling software and GIS tools.
  • Good knowledge and hands-on practical experience in big data analysis with R, Python, or MATLAB etc. or data storage system (DSS) by Hydrologic engineer’s corporation.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills, ability to statistical data analysis and interpretation; also, should have knowledge on statistical tools like experimental design, probability and trend analysis.
  • Should be workable under pressure and responsibility; and motivated to frequent field visit for water resource projects
  • Should be a good team player and self-oriented;
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred or ability to obtain within a designated period.

Responsibilities & Context

  • Lead and manage water resources projects from conception to completion, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery. Oversee project teams, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and support to other consultants.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including hydrologists, engineers, and environmental consultants.
  • Provide expertise in hydrological modeling, water quality assessments, flood risk management, watershed management, hydraulic design, and coastal engineering.
  • Apply advanced tools and technologies (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, MIKE 11, ArcGIS) for modeling and analysis of surface water, stormwater, flood management, and coastal processes. Stay updated with the latest scientific research, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in water resources and environmental management. Performing hydrologic and hydro-dynamic modelling integrating 1-D & 2-D modeling.
  • Assist to undertake and implement hydrological analysis, flood risk assessment, drainage and storm water system analysis, geo-morphological assessment, environmental impacts of water resources and structures like water pipeline, embankment, polder, river-training impacts and mitigation measures and assist in developing flood risk mitigation planning, budgeting.
  • Assist in water control structures and floodproofing infrastructures development calculation, analysis, diagram, designing and conceptualization for hydraulic designing; assist in BOQ estimation.
  • Act as the main point of contact for key clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the water resources and environmental sectors. Contribute to the development of the department’s strategic goals, aligning with market trends and client needs.
  • Assist in preparing bids and proposals for new projects, ensuring competitive and innovative approaches to water resource challenges.
  • Ensure that all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to water resources, environmental protection, and sustainability.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and professional growth. Conduct technical reviews of project deliverables, ensuring high-quality reporting and deliverables.
  • Attain Client meeting and effective communication to meet client’s requirements;
  • Support for Preparation of Expression of Interest (EOI) and Project Proposal (PP) for Local and International projects;
  • Communication with International and local consultants/ experts and firms for project engagement and network development; and
  • Reporting to immediate line manager/project manager for effective project implementation;
